The University Open Day Support programme enables you to attend open days or student-led visits at universities of 50 miles from home, without having to worry about the associated travel costs.
Travel isn’t cheap and the Trust believes Members’ choice of university shouldn’t be limited to those closer to home. That’s why University Open Day Support can help.
The University Open Day Support programme will fund the cost of rail transport to attend a maximum of 3 Open Days and/or student-led visits or interviews at least 50 miles away from home. Other public transport will be considered if it is deemed the most efficient route.
The programme will fund the cost of a standard class, specified time, same-day or next-day return rail fare, or public transport regardless of the length of journey or cost. To ensure travel is specific to the Member, and in accordance with tax advice received, travel must be booked via the Trust on behalf of the Member travelling, at least 14 days in advance of travel.
The First or Second Generation Member applying must be the student attending the open days and intending to go to university. The Trust may fund travel for an accompanying parent or guardian in certain circumstances.
To find out more and to apply for this new benefit, visit University Open Day Support in the Member Benefits section of the eaga Trust website.
